Old Tiger Stadium used to have Nazis for ushers.

When Comerica opened, they became a lot more lenient. During batting practice, they'll let you wander and explore into different sections without checking tickets.

Game-wise, they may be a little stricter, but I have switched sections to open seats.

It's been a number of years now, but new Comiskey wasn't too bad either.

No. But there was a 3.5-hour rain delay yesterday. And it rained for most of the game, too, which took FOREVER. Votto put an end to that, though. On Saturday night, it was packed. And loud.

The old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore had ushers who would wait until you slipped into a low-level seat, then come up and call you out in front of everybody.

I keep thinking there's another one out there, but so far, I haven't found one. The closest I've come to is Jack Barry (1911-13 A's, 1915, 1917 Red Sox) who was in military service in 1918 and didn't play with Boston.

Reggie Jackson also came close, winning 3 with Oakland (1972-74) and two with the Yankees (77-78) and playing on the 81 Yankees team that lost to the Dodgers in 6 games.

David Cone won five with two teams.

So did Paul O'Neill, but like Cone, four of those were with one team.

More bad news for the Angels: Torii Hunter has been placed on the restricted list for personal reasons after his 17-year-old son was arrested in Texas for sexual assault of a child.

Davey Johnson gives Henry Rodriguez the closer's vote of confidence before Monday night's game.

Rodriguez responds by walking three of the four batters he faces in the ninth tonight (with a three-run lead) and getting pulled for Sean Burnett.

Johnson can't let this go on much longer.
