Yup. If not for a weasel move by Reyes he wins the triple crown last year. It was only a month and a half into this season but he looked like he was defintely going to contend for it this year also.

Edit: didn't realize he was that far behind Reyes.

He did say the best right now and Hamilton is healthy for the moment.

Now if you are going to talk about which one I would want to build my team around, that is a different discussion. There I'd have to eliminate Hamilton due to the injuries and history of substance abuse.

And if we're using the stipulation "clean" that rules out Braun.

I'd go with Kemp. Yes, he gets hurt, but he doesn't have the baggage Braun and Hamilton have.

So, you have proof that Votto and Kemp are clean?

Oh wait. You don't care about proof. I forgot.

So -- do we believe "intestinal virus"? He has been in the tank for a while now, hitting .196 in June.

    http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story/_/id/8057803/texas-rangers-josh-hamilton-sent-hospital-intestinal-virus

ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton was hospitalized with an intestinal virus early Friday morning and was expected to miss Friday night's game against the Houston Astros.

No reason to disbelieve it. Nelson Cruz missed a game and a half with the same bug.

Nelson Cruz isn't a recovering addict who has had two highly public relapses in a little more than a year.

No. But we have proof Braun isn't.

Another Blue Jays pitcher leaves the game early due to an injury.

    -Morrow
    -Drabek
    -Hutchison

    Unbelievable.

Beat me to it, never seen anything like it. Is Jim Clancy available?
