Might have to hit a Sunday Sox game then. I seriously love those threads and I have little love for the Pale Hose.

Surprising that someone left the Sox on bad terms. So unusual.

I get the feeling they were as fed up with him as he them.

    Oh, well.

I'd rather see Strasburg start for the NL anyway. ;)

The great thing for the Pirates is that while the pitching still isn't quite sustainable, it would take so little to upgrade the offense. You could add a ton just by replacing some of their awful, awful players with spare parts that other teams don't even want.

Orioles are a great example of that. They've pieced together some semblance of an offense with guys like Chris Davis, Steve Pearce and Wilson Betemit.

Their '50s unis featured the interlocking S-O-X, as well, though it wasn't in Old English like these and the current version.

I remember the White Sox used to overhaul their look every five years or so. Nice that they've finally settled on the classy current look for more than two decades.

Wish I had had that photo handy to explain to a certain reader that the correct spelling was NOT "Socks".

I doubt Youkilis can stay healthy, but if they rest him every fifth game or so, maybe he'll last through the season. They gave up nothing, so anything he produces is gravy, especially since third base has been a black hole for the Sox since Joe Crede's brief heyday.

Probably isn't entirely the Sawx's fault. Youkilis was pretty prickly long before he become a big deal in Boston. Worked with someone who was familiar with him in a wood-bat collegiate league and he wasn't a lot of sunshine back then, either.

I'm certainly no Sox fan either but I always liked the zipper front road uni from that era.
