  1. Gordon Edes is the best.

That place is starting to put up totals like the pre-humidor days. Gonna be a long summer for the Rockies and a long weekend for any team that has to play there.

The best pitcher in baseball has gone on the DL. [/MankyJimy]

Manky-baiting aside, that's pretty significant considering how durable CC has been over the years.

From what I saw on the wires and QuickPitch overnight, Apodaca asked to be reassigned. But, yeah, being a pitching coach for the Rockies has to be like being the deck chair arranger on the Titanic.

Jamie Moyer says you get old in a hurry when you make that first trip to the DL after spending most of your career healthy.

That should concern Sabathia. Moyer is an expert on getting old.

Moyer's been an old ballplayer longer than most players have been ballplayers at all.

Usually you can at least try to walk through what a manager is thinking, but there is no need to with this. What Tracy is doing is flat-out dumb.

People have talked about a return to the four-man rotation for years. There's a theory that the extra day of rest doesn't really do much except get the pitcher used to the extra day. I've been hearing for at least a decade that some team would try it at some point.

Get rid of the No. 5 starter, and offensive stats are going to go down. Bank on it.

Sure going to need effective middle relievers, though.

Yeah, but good luck with the agents.
