They'll have to bring Phelps back up. I was thinking for a minute this might be the time we see Banuelos or Betances come up, but they're both pitching so poorly in Scranton, I don't see it happening.

At least they think CC will only miss two turns through the rotation.

Adam Warren pitched last night and well in Triple-A, so I could see them go Phelps in CC's spot and Warren in Pettitte's. Garcia as a starter has nada. Keep him as the lone man in case either blows up.

Banuelos has been hurt for like a month. he's not an option. Betances pitched two days ago and was terrible. His days as a starter are numbered.

They have a Vidal Nuno pitching to an 0.89 ERA in seven starts at Trenton.

    Just sayin'.

Of course the occasional anomaly in the defensive metric can lead to screwy results. The thing to do would be to find a way to weed out that bias without throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I still think using UZR or +/- is better than nothing or eye-witness alone. I also think WAR, despite its shortcomings will get us closer to the "truth" than some older stats, whose lack of any and all context far outweighs the type of rare issue we are seeing with Lawrie. I never claimed WAR is perfect or shouldn't be questioned.

Then led off the bottom of the inning with a base hit and went on to score the Giants' first run of the game.

Also, Andre Ethier left the game with an injury to his oblique muscle: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/eye-on-baseball/19432061/andre-ethier-leaves-game-with-injury. If he's out for any length of time, the already shaky Dodgers offense could be pretty bad pretty quick.

NL West tied after Giants finish three-game sweep of Dodgers. Combined series score 11-0.

The highest payroll in baseball will be calling up Ryota Igarashi to replace Freddy Garcia, who moves to the Yankees rotation.

Until they get someone like Wandy Rodriguez at the deadline, about five weeks from now.
