Frankly I'm stunned that Chone Figgins actually reached base on his own.

Nice standing ovation. Nice tip of the helmet in acknowledgement. Hawk Harrelson chimes in that he knows what it's like to come back to Boston. Youk singles up the middle. Ends up scoring the game's first run on a hustle play that leads to a throwing error.

Don't have a link yet, but Votto's going to have arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus and miss a couple of weeks.

And the Brewers have scratched Greinke from Wednesday's start.

I didn't have a link, but I posted it earlier. They are trying to pass it off as getting him back on track after his routine got all screwed up, but that doesn't really make sense. How is missing a start going to get him back in his routine?

I see no takers for Greinke. He is a mental Gidget and that has nothing to do with his issues in 2006. He can win Cy Youngs in Kansas City, but the Rangers have no use for him.

He back-to-back starts last season (before and after the all-star break), so I don't see what the big deal is. If they wanted him to stick to a routine, they shouldn't have scratched him.

That "start" in Houston shouldn't count since he got ejected so quickly.

Yeah, but the Royals do. See: Sanchez, Jonathan.

What's wrong with Davey Johnson? He looks like he's not well. He doesn't even sneer any more.

If you combined the Royals hitting with the Mariners pitching, you might have something.

As it is? Two lousy teams slugging it out tonight.
