Angels have brought out the whoopin' sticks in Detroit. Trumbo, Trout and Pujols bang out homers in the first two innings.

While Ian Desmond is out with a minor injury, the cynic in me thinks the Nats are auditioning Espinosa for a trade by playing him at SS. He's been a disappointment this season, though hot recently, and seeing him at SS again could get a team curious about a guy with a lot of potential.

Some muttering that Turner might be being showcased for a trade. If so, his value just dropped about 187,000% .

Anthony Rendon played only two games in Potomac before getting hurt. But between him and Jeff Kobernus in AA, they may need to make some room for infielders in the next year or two.

Damn, how did the Angels end up with both Trout and Trumbo?

Trumbo's from Anaheim was an 18th round pick.

Trout supposedly lasted til the No. 25 pick in the 2009 draft because he was from New Jersey and didn't get seen by a lot of scouts because of the crappy weather.

Yup. And they are fun to watch hit, and Scioscia ball adds to that.

One of the better batting-practice shows in MLB.

Trout's 440 foot opposite field shot. Right-center field gap where not many go, excluding Cabrera.

So you only post Angels updates when they lead, eh? Where were you last night? :D :D

Ha. Not near a computer. They still bashed the ball last night, but the bullpen has cost them two wins on this trip. Still will be tough to win the division, I think, though if they keep hitting like this ...

Sounds like Pujols is really rubbing off on the Angels.

Buster Posey is having himself a hell of a game and they're only in the fourth inning.
