Yeah, now up to 12-0. Looking forward to the Trout interview on the Dan Patrick show tomorrow.

I was glad to see Desmond come in to pinch-run in the 9th tonight. That would indicate that the Nats have no DL plans for him.

On the other hand, I think the fact that he sat most of three games with that oblique injury should calm any vitriol about him sitting out the All-Star break.

If you saw him try to swing on Saturday, you could tell he was really hurting

Nice W for them tonight. Somewhere spnited is cursing.

The Daily News had a piece on it, too. Not only did the Halos take Trout with the 25th pick, their second consecutive outfielder, they took him with the compensatory pick acquired because the Yankees had signed Teixeira.

That's one way to keep the bullpen from blowing it. Give them a double-digit lead.

    Any relation to Steve?

Don't think so, but Mike's dad Jeff Trout did play in the minors with the Twins in the mid-80s.

Somewhere a way, way back on this thread, someone was trying to tell me that Joe Mauer was finished and wouldn't be remembered as a great player.

He's up to .333 and trying to chase down Trout for what would be his fourth batting title.

He'll be remembered somewhat like Boggs. Great average hitter ... not much pop.

Mauer's a great hitter for average and good with the glove, but he's being paid $23 million per year (through 2018) based on his 2009 season, which he's never come close to equating and probably never will.

He's the same age as Robinson Cano, and not as good a hitter. Yet he'll make $9 million more this season.

    That's the issue.

Shamelessly stolen from Moddy's FB page. This is good stuff:
