Derek Lowe's smoke is see-through and his mirrors have been broken. Lowe's earned run average is approaching 9.00 over his last 11 starts.

Braves fans just nod their heads and chuckle.

I saw Lackey get chunked for throwing at Kinsler with the very first two pitches of the game. No warning.

Be on the lookout tonight in Arlington, by the way. There may be a little payback for Beltre's beanball.

Hanley just tripled off the center-field wall on the first pitch he saw with the Dodgers.

If it's an obviously deliberate HBP, there doesn't have to be any previous warnings.

He probably wouldn't be very good over there, but if a National League team traded for Butler, he would be playing first base every day.

I can't see the Pirates getting somebody like that without giving up one of their elite prospects. The more I think about it, the less I believe this rumor is anything close to reality. It just doesn't make sense for the Royals to trade Butler.

I don't know, oop. I've got to think the Royals are still in future mode. Their "arrival" is proving to take a little longer than some expected.

The Brewers bullpen ... catch the fever!

Butler is only 26 years old. He is under contract for two more seasons with a team option for a third. Unless the haul is too much to pass up, I don't understand trading him at this point.

If Francisco Cordero's the answer, you've gotta ask what the question was.
