The debate is shutting down Strasburg or not. Some people say the Nats are playing this correctly. I disagree.

What the hell are you arguing? He hasn't been shut down yet.

If he does get shut down, then the arguments can begin.

Like Moddy said earlier, he has 50-plus innings until the so-called mark. That probably gets him to the end of the season.

In other Nats notes, Michael Morse just hit a ball halfway to Austin. I would've gone out of Minute Maid Park if a billboard hadn't gotten in the way.
Clearly, he should've worked the walk.

Absolutely what Hank said here. It becomes a controversy if/when he goes past that innings limit -- which some say was never really spelled out at all -- or when they pull the plug.

Decathlon silver medalist had TJ surgery 10 months ago.

Nats would have cut him off after eight events.

Mike Rizzo is the bestest, most smartest GM in the history of baseball. Just ask him. He's his biggest fan.

But he's put together a damn good team this year, and one that'll be the gold standard of the NL East for a few years to come. Having the chance to draft a pair of once in a generation type talents in back to back years sure helps, but he's done a good job with the supporting cast, too.

    LOL.

You really are something. I bet you're even patting yourself on the back for that one, aren't you?

What on earth does Dan Snyder have to do with this conversation? How does that even tie in? I must be missing a joke.

He's saying an owner's wealth isn't necessarily indicative of success.

He's right, but not for the reason he thinks.

Only no one was arguing that wealth IS an indicator of success. I said that the Nats owners could handle the Werth and Zimmerman contracts without bouncing a check. That's all.

Then, as usual, donkey kong grabs the steering wheel and yanks it hard to the right, flipping it off the road, causing it to explode in a magnificent ball of flames.

You're not missing the joke, Moddy. It was right there in front of you.

Since blowing a 9-0 lead and losing to the Braves, the Nats are 16-5.

If Rizzo knew what he was doing, I suppose, they'd be 21-0

I think Rizzo is a good GM, but he's not infallible. He's wasted more than 500 at-bats on Rick Ankiel, Steve Lombardozzi and Mark DeRosa. I realize health played a part in some of that, but those guys are below replacement. And he kept on running them out there.
