Fuck Dusty Baker. Even though all that's true, 125 pitches with a 10-run lead for the youngest starter in baseball was a bit much.

Johan Santana's return from the DL did not go well. He's already out of the game after allowing 6 runs on 8 hits in 1 1/3 innings against the Braves.

He's just been awful since the no-hitter.

EDIT: Make that 8 runs. Freddie Freeman just hit a 3-run bomb over the apple in dead center off Jeremy Hefner.

It's 9-0 Braves, and still in the 2nd.

The Tigers are riding Verlander like a rented mule. His pitch count this week would make even Dusty Baker blush.

118 is fairly standard for Verlander.

He's been at 113 or more in 14 of his 24 starts this year (including tonight). And been over 100 in every game.

He's a freak. Usually throws high 90s in the late innings. Some guys are just physically gifted.

I think F. Bat was referring to the 132 pitches Verlander threw his last start against New York, followed by the 118 tonight.

But like was stated earlier, 118 is pretty normal for him.

The Dodgers' Chris Capuano hasn't allowed a hit yet in Miami. Heading to the bottom of the seventh.

I hear he had Tommy John surgery during the stretch.
