Context would be nice. Probably too much to expect from you, but it would be nice.

Is there a situation in which that principle doesn't apply?

The major leagues' hit leader, Melky Cabrera, was just suspended 50 games for positive testosterone test.

He'll miss the final 43 games and the possibly up to the first 7 games in the postseason (or more if he appeals).

God dammit. I have loved watching him.

Further proof that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Fair point, but the statement is far more appropriate when left in context. Hokie did misunderstand my post, which is understandable. The hostility in his response was a bit out of line, though.

  8. This is true.

I dunno, I'm just trying to take something out of this absolute clusterfuck of a 2012 season with the Astros.

They have built a huge marketing campaign behind that Melk Man thing, too. Suckas!

Been kind of funny that the last few months there have been brief mentions of contract discussions and then a couple of weeks ago they just decided to table it till the end of the season. Pretty sure we know why that happened.

As a Braves fan, I suffered through the Fat Elvis Melky season when my team was so close to making the postseason in 2010. He never did try to get in shape, never showed any signs that he cared at all. Good riddance.
