Whose misfortune? The Giants got 4.8 wins above replacement from testosteroned-up Melky Cabrera. His previous career high, set last season, was 4.1 WAR. Cabrera actually cheated, so I don't know how anyone would worry about his misfortune of being caught.

The teams that lose in this scenario are the Braves, Nationals and other National League teams in the pennant race. Those wins Cabrera helped lead the Giants to aren't wiped off the board despite his cheating. They shouldn't be, either. But there's no misfortune here worth feeling sorry about.

It's not just that it hurts the Giants that is resulting in all the schadenfreude, it's comeuppance for a player who's been acting like an arrogant cocksucker all year, particularly in that series against mine and Buck's Braves.

I would say the entire American League was effected by Melky's cheating considering he was the AS game MVP.

Also, would he be eligible for the post season? There are 43 games left and I heard he would be suspended at the beginning of next season. Heard. Itching about if the Giants make the playoffs

When Hernandez pitches, they have a "King's Court" section in the left field corner, complete with T-shirts, K signs, etc.

And I believe they had about 22,000 at the game today ... maybe half-full. So yeah, a big crowd by Mariners standards these days.

Announced attendance in the broadcast I listened to -- the Mariners radio guys, fwiw, was just over 18,000, I think.

Michael Kay was already whining about that today, insisting that MLB should not give home field to the National League because the All-Star Game result is tainted.

that's abiut as reasonable as thinking Braun didn't juice because the samples were tainted.

And it is his teammates' fault he cheated and now they have to play the rest of the season without him? Or are you claiming that he couldn't have possibly helped the Giants without cheating? Because there is far from a consensus on the impact of PEDs. We don't even know exactly what he took yet.

As I said, you are more than welcome to be happy that one of the top players in the NL this season got busted for using an illegal substance. I see it as cheering the misfortune for the Giants and their fans, which I don't care for. It's not a big deal, except you and Sonner just can't seem to let a little eyeroll slide.

You were in such a rush to toss that little bit of bullshit out there that you couldn't even spell about.

Sorry, but you've got to provide an untainted sample to prove a guy juiced. That is not nearly as unreasonable as expecting MLB to change policy in mid-season because the MVP of the All-Star game got busted, especially given that Bud Selig has stated many times that he hates the idea of going back and wiping out past accomplishments of players who get busted because it would cause more problems than it would solve.

that's pretty cool wonder why yellow do they have different ones each game. they must've let people move up if it was only 20k. on tv the lower 2 levels looked packed.

it was a bullshit technicality. if you think that it was tainted and that he didn't use you sound like Kay.
