Apparently he doesn't own a mirror.

Who said I was happy? I couldn't give less of a fuck about the National League and its teams. My point, which was not meant to pick on you, was that the Giants reaped benefits of testosterone-addled Melky Cabrera, who had a career-best season, admittedly at an age in which many players peak.

Cabrera's numbers took a big jump between 2010 and 2011, then another this season. I'm not drawing any conclusions about that. But I am saying that I think the Giants would take Cabrera's 113 games of MVP-candidate play this year over a full season of his play any other season.

But you're right. I've said my piece; I'll let it slide.

Well its almost deja vu all over again, well sort of. I now have to tell my boys that their new favorite, the Melk Man, was a fraud as well.

Oh, what bullshit. It's not "misfortune". Their player broke the rules and got caught.

Cheering for an injury or illness to an opponent? Absolutely off limits. That's real misfortune.

This is someone who knew he was breaking the rules (and was pretty arrogant and defiant about it beforehand.) Huge, huge difference.

Don't know who it is doing color in the booth on the ESPN game tonight but I assume it's a former player (aren't they all?). He just called Josh Hamilton's long blast a "prestigious" blast, rather than a prodigious blast. ESPN might want to coach him to not go for big words if he doesn't know the right ones.

Reminiscent of Emmitt Smith say the Patriots "got debacled" when he was on NFL Countdown.

Just watched the final three outs of King Felix's game on MLB.tv. Even when you know exactly what was going to happen, it was goosebump-worthy. Absolutely masterful ninth inning.

Reading accounts of Cabrera's defiance, I wonder if he also thought he'd beat it on appeal.

Or maybe he just figured he was going to play in peace until he can't play anymore and then just disappear.

Oh, I know I do it, too. That doesn't mean I can't say something when somebody else does it.

Hey, if you want to keep trying to compare apples to hand grenades, be my guest.

I gotta agree with this. This "look in the mirror" stuff gets tiresome after a while. If somebody wants to comment on something, they don't need to do a freakin' background check on themselves first.

You really should explain that bit about cheering for an injury or illness to an opponent to some of the other posters here. They don't get it.

So the entire Giants' organization is to blame for Cabrera's actions? Ok. Gonna have to agree to disagree there.
