Top of the 19th in St. Louis. Pirates just went up 4-3 on a Pedro Alvarez solo home run.
Pirates on their last pitcher, tomorrow's starter Wandy Rodriguez, and they're out of position players. The Cardinals used Adam Wainwright (tomorrow's starter as pinch-hitter in the 18th.
David Freese is 0-for-8 and Matt Holliday is 0-for-7 for the Cards.

Finally over. Pirates score three in the top of the 19th to win 6-3. Good win for those guys.

The Yankees have their DH batting 9th. How often does that happen?

Good for the Pirates. That's a big win.

They did it almost all year in I think 2002 when Nick Johnson was a rookie.

Two 2Bs and a single for Jeter tonight (up to .321) and two HRs and an infield single for Ichiro.

Too bad I'm older than both of them. Still, a good night for old guys.

I'm pretty sure they've done that most of this season.

Mitch Moreland occasionally bats ninth as a DH for the Rangers. In fact, he batted ninth as a DH just four days ago ... against the Yankees.

At least the ump didn't end the game on a bullshit call to go home like what happened last year.

Looks like the Mets will be moving their AAA affiliate out of Buffalo after this season, clearing the way - hopefully - for the Jays to move from Vegas. Never needed an excuse in the past to visit Pilot Field (the only name I have ever called it), I am sure plenty of Jays fans will make the trek down the QEW to check out the Bisons. Fans who want to check out the Las Vegas 51's this season just have to go down to Rogers Centre or turn on their TV.
