Gonzalez is also having the worst season of his career, and by a fairly large margin. There's at least an equal chance he doesn't live up to the contract as that he does.

It's funny, when the trade came down one of the stat-head sites overlaid his Petco home runs on a map of Fenway and everyone went gaga about how many he was going to hit.

    Sure does. Good observation.

    I claimed him long ago.

Is he a Dodger yet? I can't wait to stop getting Google news alerts about pissant little Boston bloggers crying after every loss.

Yet he managed to have, based on FanGraphs and Baseball-Reference WAR, his best season in 2011 despite his lowest home run output in five years.

One thing Ken Rosenthal keeps bringing up on Fox: The Dodgers reestablishing their "brand" in LA around Gonzalez.

He's perfect for that market. A Mexican-American star who gets it.

Oh I know. I was just quoting the stupidity for posterity.

And the third-best player on the team. If that.

John Smoltz was the third-best pitcher on his team for most of his career. That means nothing.

His wife is fairly attractive. And by fairly, I mean, VERY.

I want so badly to hate her. But she has a real woman body, and works for a non-profit.

    Goddammit.
