I hope the Orioles stay in the race just so various iterations of this picture keep showing up in this thread.

An ROE is the only thing keeping Gio Gonzalez from being perfect through five.

And most of the time more money means jack shit which is why baseball is fine without a salary cap

Yankees got a big win despite Kuroda doing his best to cough up every lead the offense gave him.

and with the lineup they had he is lucky they gave him what they did. there were a couple guys who should be in the IL playoffs playing tonight.

Just because your Mets have managed to lose despite their large market advantage doesn't mean it isn't there. Even the most blatant baseball apologists on this site admit that having more money makes an impact on the game. It always has.

You don't have to go back that far for proof. The Yankees bought their most recent World Series in 2009. They had the highest payroll in the game and still managed to sign the best pitcher on the market, the top hitter on the market and arguably the second-best free agent pitcher. By all accounts, Sabathia and Teixeira didn't really want to come to New York, but the Yankees threw too much money at them to turn down. If it is possible to buy a World Series, it is absolutely ludicrous to say having more money means jack shit.

The real crime is the lack of a salary floor in baseball, but y'all never seem to be able to keep up with that notion.

I love how everybody else is unable to keep up in your arguments. It's a common theme. If only we could be on your level.

Sandoval acted like a jerkoff. McDonald was caught in between sliding and standing up.

How hard is it? The thing MLB needs even more than a cap is a floor. I've explained it repeatedly. Then again, you don't think having more money makes a difference in baseball, so you just may be a lost cause.

If you decide too late to slide you could tear an achilles. he didn't try to run him over. Panda Bear looked like a jerkoff going after a guy who clearly was caught off guard when they threw across the diamond. Panda should expect one at his ribs next at-bat.
