Somone on the radio last week was saying if Detroit gets in they may have the best 1-2 starters in the postseason. I missed the beginning and was thinking who Verlander and Fister. didn't realize how good Sherzer's been. Manky alert -- Jeter RBI single now tied for 10th on hits list.

Scherzer may be better than Verlander right now. Verlander has been hurt by a poor run support, but he's also been a little up and down too. He got hit pretty hard two of the last three games (with the pretty good Sunday night White Sox outing sandwiched in between).

Shirt's untucked, another Soriano save. Yanks remain tied with O's. Remember the talk about signing Brett Myers when Rivera went down.

Edit: Went back to the thread. there was just a mention of the old Steinbrenner doing something like sign Myers not anyone really saying it was a good idea.

I'm curious if anyone has any good reason for the widespread parity in the AL and the massive division leads and absolutely terrible bottom-feeders in the NL. The AL has five of the top seven payrolls.

There are moments when Manky seems almost lucid. Then he makes the trolling very clear with stuff like Matt Lawton comment.

I get what he is, too, but you folks may have noticed that I find it amusing to argue with people. If you all really think every argument I throw at Manky is serious, you're even more clueless than he pretends to be.

I agree. There are moments where he almost knows what he's talking about. Then it all goes to hell in a handbasket.

I always wondered how fast that handbasket goes ...
