Oh I know, just being a pessimistic Rangers fan is all.

Nicely done. This. Oh and he blasted Cabrera so that's "intangibles/leadership/Jeter stuff" as well :)

The Rangers have won the last two AL flags and have the best record in the league -- and you're pessimistic??!!

Not quite fair to leave out home runs (40 to 22 edge for Braun) and stolen bases (27 to 1 edge for Braun). Actually, leaving any counting statistics out unfairly skews your comparison for Posey. Posey gets extra credit for being a catcher, as he should, but by the same token Braun is able to be in the lineup more. Posey can't help the Giants in the games he doesn't play.

I'm not going to get into OPS+ and park factor because those statistics use adjustments/estimates. You are welcome to use them and I'm sure many voters do. I'm not a big fan of it because they wander from measuring what guys do to what we think they would do under different circumstances.

I have no problem with it being Posey. I might even agree with that vote once the season is done. That said, I still think one reason he's seen as a foregone conclusion is that Braun is the other top contender and some voters will refuse to consider him at all.

You did see the way they pissed the World Series away last year right?

Can't help it. Playoff baseball/near playoff baseball makes my stomach queasy.

Buffalo did not have a team from mid-1970 through 1978 because ...:

EDIT: Never mind. I'm totally wrong about this. See below.

Cabrera's at .363/.441/.713 since August 1. I think he's going to win the MVP, especially if he makes a serious run at the Triple Crown.

    I must have missed something.
Who is Nora Von Waldstratten and what does she have to do with Pujols?

It's September 18. I think we can safely say he has made a serious run at the Triple Crown, no matter what happens the final two weeks. :)

That said, Trout is the best player in baseball and it's not even close — and, HE'S 20!

It's the Angels. It's a given it's going to take a long time.

Are you absolutely sure about that? Because that is an awesome rule and I can't find it anywhere.
