    Per what I read head-to-head only determines who gets home-field in that tiebreaking game.

    Nope, they changed that rule either last year or this year, forget which.

    Correct. Since there's a serious difference between the division winner and wild card, they now play the tiebreaker game.

    These are the things that happen when a bunch of teams are fighting for two wild-card spots: Me, an Angels fan, rooting for Texas to clinch with a four-game sweep so the Halos can gain ground on the A's. Weird.
