The only thing that would've been more fitting would've been for Kason Gabbard to pitch to him.

Wow ... that name takes me back. I remember him from my collegiate days of covering University of Iowa baseball ... and football. Bo Porter was a pretty good defense back for the Hawkeyes in the early 1990s.

Good luck with the Astros, Bo ... you'll need it!

ESPN is on stand-by to grab one of those games instead of a game with playoff implications. The MLB nation waits, and hopes....

Speaking of Texas, they're up 6-1 on Oakland in the 2nd. Looks like they'll stay four up. And they've gotten a chance to acclimate to the daytime starting time for the postseason, yielding once again to the Yankees in primetime.

Good thing the Indians waited until there were six games left to make that move. Might just turn things around.

Doug Fister sets a Tigers and AL record with nine straight K's against the Royals. Tom Seaver has the MLB record with 10 in 1970.

Acta isn't the biggest problem Cleveland had. The biggest problem they had is the lack of competent players on that team. Not saying Acta shouldn't have been fired - when you go through that epic of a free fall, i get firing the manager, but, damn, that was never a playoff caliber team. They need a whole new front office.

Was at the game. Big crowd. Harrison and Adams struggled ... and that's a Rangers fanboy being nice.

Was he on the Tim Costo team that played in the regionals in 1990?
