If the Angels finish off tonight and sweep the Mariners, we are all but guaranteed a 163rd game out of the West.

--If A's sweep Rangers, it would be Rangers-Angels for the WC spot.
--If A's take two of three, A's and Rangers tie and have to play off for who is division champ and who is WC.
--If Rangers win two of three, A's and Angels would tie for final WC spot.
--If Rangers sweep A's, Angels can make playoffs with a sweep, or there would be a one-game playoff if Angels take two of three from M's.

Also looking at potential playoff between O's and Yanks for div champ vs. WC.

They might actually get 15,000 in Oakland the next three nights.

Well, I'll stand corrected. They had 21,000-plus there today.

And of course, giving a 4-0 lead, Santana is crapping the bed.

Also of note regarding the A's and fandom: It required a last-minute agreement and some heavy tension to get Saturday's game on the air. They weren't scheduled previously and that station is normally used for college football. Turned out to be a pretty good move when A's tied it with two in the ninth and got a walk-off bomb in the 10th.

But man, they have shitty fan outreach. You can't blame A's fans for not showing up when they've been so heartily encouraged not to.

Welcome back to Angels ass kicking, Mike Napoli. Three-run blast, 6-4. Second yard ball of the game.

Angels fail to turn a doulbe play to end the third and Mike Napoli follows with a three-run bomb. 6-4 and Santana is done for the day.

Hard to support a team when management sings "Do you know the way to San Jose" at every opportunity. Today's totals a little more impressive going against the Raiders ... or maybe enhanced because they were going against the Raiders!

And now a two-run double by Napoli.

3-for-3, two runs, six RBI, double, two homers.

If I go to bed tonight with the Orioles having clinched a playoff spot because the Angels lost, the first thing I'll have to do tomorrow is go see a doctor, because my erection will have lasted WAY MORE than four hours.
