Derp, ignore mine, I was thinking of if there was a three-way mixed tie for two spots, not three.

Oakland now up 3-1. This is sick what the Athletics are doing.

Dodgers trying to stay relevant and try to get to Thursday.

I continue to wonder why my fellow Dodgers fans repeatedly ask me to justify my lack of hope.

The Rangers have to be feeling like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. "Who ARE these guys?"

And they're damn lucky there's an extra wild card team this year or they'd be looking at not even making the playoffs.

The rest of baseball wants no part of the A's. With a win tonight they are 67-33 and they have matched up well with and taken down the best teams in the league. They swept the Yankees out here.

    They are baseball's NY Giants.

They're to the bottom of the ninth up 3-1. Looking like AL West comes down to one game Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. PDT.

On June 30, the Rangers led the A's by 13 games.

Balfour has faced six batters in the ninth inning of the last two nights. Five Ks and a groundout.

Trout goes 1 for 5, trails Cabrera by eight points for the batting title.

I predict Cabrera gets two official ABs tomorrow -- hoping to pop one out of there and cushion the HR lead. If he goes 0 for 2, he wins the batting title even if Trout goes 5 for 5. But an 0-for-3 by Cabrera gives Trout an opening.
