Almost makes me want to tune in "SportsCenter in LA" just to watch them cry, or point out how great the Dodgers still are.

Cubs fans are just so precious.

Do they do that? Do the anchors "cry!!!!" when L.A. teams lose? Do they hype those teams more than the others?

Or is this just some NoCal fanboy seeking to be loud?

Can't say I ever noticed some kind of "regional BIAS!!!!!" from SportsCenter L.A. It always came off like ESPN's feeble attempt to combat "East Coast BIAS!!!!" claims, and also an excuse to build pretty buildings in L.A.

Never felt schadenfreude or glee when Melky got caught. Was too busy A. Wishing same had happened to Bonds; and B. Waiting for Dodgers to take advantage.

    Still waiting, I suppose.

If the Orioles win tonight, at worst, they host the wild card. If they lose, they're on the road for the wild card. So still plenty at stake.

Trout or Cabrera? Depends on the sauce.

Broke this to my Brewers-fan friend today:

Prince Fielder has a 4.4 WAR this season. The Brewers are 4 games behind St. Louis for the second wild card.

Oh my goodness, I hope he didn't jump off a bridge.

Just because I'm in the mood to be that guy today (and every day, really), the Brewers got about 2.5 WAR out of their various first basemen, so even swapping in Fielder projects them to be two short.

Here's my favorite Prince Fielder stat:

    Fielder -- .312 average, 30 HR, 108 RBI, 4.4 WAR for $23 million
    LaRoche -- .271 average, 33 HR, 100 RBI, 3.9 WAR for $8 million

Not to mention 3.2 from Norichika Aoki, who replaced new first baseman Corey Hart (1.8 WAR) in right field.

Which is nice if you want to bet on Adam LaRoche's career year, which still isn't quite as good Fielder in what is kind of an off year for him.

Not to mention 5.2 from Aramis Ramirez, who replaced Fielder at clean-up.
