Question (the way the A's and Rangers are going through pitchers): Any games played to determine bracket order are still considered regular-season games and teams can use expanded rosters, right? Then back to 25-man for postseason?

Not sure about that but somebody mentioned awhile back that the wildcard winner can reset its roster going into the ALDS. That means that you could set your wildcard game roster with only one starting pitcher on it and use the other four spots for relievers and/or bench guys.

Not anymore. Hamilton flat out drops a fly ball that would have been the third out. A's score two. 7-5 now.

And CLANK! goes Hamilton. Oakland 7-5.

This is why Little Lague coaches preach two hands on fly balls, kids.

Hamilton drops the ball!!! Can you believe it? I spent a lot of time at the Coliseum as a kid. Sure wish I was there now.

In Hamilton's slight defense, it does look like the sun is a bitch out there today. The A's dropped an infield pop fly to extend the Rangers' big inning, and even on some catches both teams have made the fielders have been very wobbly.

This time of day, the defense is looking right into the sun, agreed. But if he gets in front of it instead of nonchallanting it off to the side, the Rangers are out of the inning.

Yeah, sun or no sun that ball should be caught.

Of course if Dempster wasn't a gutless piece of shit they aren't in a situation to blow the lead though.
