Oh, come on. You just portrayed Alex Rodriguez as rational and intelligent.

Joe Girardi: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Stop right there. Scoring 15 straight runs and coming back from a 9-0 deficit ain't even the same fuckin' thing.
Brian Cashman: It's not. It's the same ballpark.
Girardi: Well. Yeah. I guess it was.

I don’t mean to shatter your ego, but this ain’t the first time I’ve had a bat pointed at me.

Bobby V: "What'd I tell ya, soon as the word got out a fix was in, the odds would be outta control. Hey, if he was a better pitcher he'd be alive. If he never put on a glove in the first place, which he never shoulda done, he'd be alive. Enough about the poor unfortunate Mr. Aceves, let's talk about the rich and prosperous Mr. Bobby. How many bookies you spread it around with? Eight? How long to collect? So by tomorrow evening, you'll have it all? Good news Terry, real good news – I understand a few stragglers aside. Me an' Fabienne're gonna leave in the morning. It should take us a couple days to get into Tokyo. Next time we see each other, it'll be on Japan time."

When did David Ortiz slim down? He looks like he could play the field again. He may have added a few years to his career. If he and Konerko can stay healthy, they could pile up the stats to make a Hall of Fame case. Lance Berkman is right there with them, I guess. I'm not sure any of them can make it another four years, but that would get them all close to 500 homers.

Did you just roster a 4-million dollar bullpen?

    Yeah.

That's Padilla and Albers and Aceves ... that's 4-million dollars? You don't put Bard in it or nothing?

    No.

    Just checking.
