As far as Jeter pressing on the way to his 3,000th hit, there is no question about it. On one of the Yankees-Red Sox games, an announcer (maybe it was Tim Kurkjian, but I'm not sure) said Jeter would never admit that he felt the pressure.

In the press conference after he got his 3000th hit, the second of five he would get that day, Jeter admitted he felt pressure in the run-up to 3,000 hits. I recall him saying, "I was lying to you guys (reporters)." He was probably lying to himself, but he has done well since that moment.

My apologies. I should have compared April to full seasons. Point being, he has had disastrous starts before and gone on to have strong seasons. Still too early to write the guy off.

Twins and Red Sox is just an epic shitshow.

    But the Twins appear worse.

The Cardinals have a team ERA of 2.74. Four starters have given up a combined 16 runs in 14 games. Waino is the only one who has struggled, and he's throwing a great game tonight. My guess is that Greinke has given up 16 runs all by himself this season.

Are you just going to ignore the part about it still being April? The list of guys who started off great and ended up being mediocre for the season is long and not illustrious.

yu now 3-0 and a 2.42 era. and since that 1st inning of his debut, an era of 1.08.

They had the league's 12th-best ERA last year despite having to rebuild the bullpen mid-season. Their No. 4 and No. 5 pitchers weren't very good. They No. 4 and No. 5 pitchers have been excellent this season. In fact, their April numbers have been better than Gallardo and Greinke. They're sure to regress. Even so, their adjustments this spring are paying off right now. If their ERAs triple by the end of the season, they'll still be equivalent to what Gallardo and Greinke are likely to have.

Team Moddy in a double one-hitter out in San Diego right now. No score mid-6th.

I was proven correct on Jeter. He has been mashing the ball the past 100 or so games.

We are almost a month into the season and Pujols has been terrible. I can't think of a power hitter that has ever started a season this poorly.

Pujols is, in my opinion, the greatest hitter ever to play the game. On April 19, he had three hits to extend his hitting streak to nine games and increase his batting average to .296. He already has seven doubles. If three of those balls sailed just a little further, he'd have four doubles and three homers. Settle down. It's APRIL!

That's because you can't think on any subject other than Jeter, which is why you can't even see the contradictions in your own posts.

And you get zero credit for being "right" about Jeter. He could have gone without a hit the first three months of the season and you would predict greatness. That he has somehow mysteriously rediscovered his power at the age of 37 does not make your fanboyish drooling any more credible than it was a year ago.

Jeter was terrible for three months and you said it was nothing. Pujols, a far superior and younger player struggles for three weeks and you predict the end. As I said all along, you are either the worst fanboy this place has ever seen or performance art that mixes in the occasional bit of entertainment with some of the foolishness.

Last week, A's pitcher Brandon McCarthy with an interesting tweet ripping Anaheim's (and presumably other parks') Kiss Cams, which invariably end with two straight men spotlighted and making yucky face about kissing.

"They put two guys on the 'Kiss Cam' tonight. What hilarity!! (by hilarity I mean offensive homophobia). Enough with this stupid trend."
