Superduper LOLz. Mike Scioscia is overrated. Who knew? Besides us and Poindexter?

Any team need a light-hitting third baseman/second baseman?

Brandon Inge officially cut from the Tigers. Brad Eldred recalled from Toledo. He has 13 HR and 35 RBI in 20 games this year.

A photo gallery of Pujols' and his frustration at a miserable start.

    Biggest free agent bust ever.

Inge hasn't hit over .200 in two years. He's currently hitting .100 (One Hundred).

In 6 of his 12 seasons in the majors, he hit under .210.

But he's gritty, gutty, hardworking, great on fundamentals, great in the clubhouse, and wants to play every day.

If that's the kind of guy you want on your roster/payroll, have at it.

Inge's kids inadvertently shredded the photos he had of Leyland and Dombrowski last night, which better explains today's move.

God I have come to hate Scioscia and his batting coach. Mickey Hatcher has been batting coach for 13 years. And Angels hitters continue to suck.

Lets get this done and get new management. The players have tuned out.

You really need your own thread again so you can stop cluttering the main baseball threads with your foolishness. Jeter could scarcely get a ball out of the infield the first half of last season and you insisted he was fine, but a younger, better player has a slow start and you insist that he's done.

Please go away until you discover rational thought.

It gets better - detective is quoted as saying he made anti-Semitic remarks.

Brandon Inge occupies a unique place in Detroit's psyche. As a white pro athlete with a pretty face (would you believe he's been in the majors for a decade), he's the idol of every overweight middle-aged woman from Downriver and 19-year-old sophomore college girl. I remember him talking about hitting home runs for kids with cancer during the 2006 playoff run and the clicheness of it all turned my stomach a little. Also, he (and Ramon Santiago) are the only carryovers from the 2003 disaster. (Though Jeremy Bonderman's making a comeback!)

For those that don't think he's 'dreamy,' Inge was always a source of controversy. Several of the Tigers' signings (Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, etc.) either directly or indirectly uprooted his position, and he's complained to the media about having to catch or having to play second more than once. He's never been better than a mistake hitter, and for all his great defense, he's just as prone to throw that ball he barehanded into the camera well as he is to get the guy at first. Just when you think he was done, he'd go hit a homer like he did last week against Texas, or go deep on his first pitch after coming back from Toledo last year, which would buy him another six months in the bigs.

Furthermore, I think the Inge adoration reveals something of an ugly truth about the Tiger fan base in general, well encapsulated by this hilarious parody of the "Pure Michigan" ads.

"With a batting average of .180, what makes Inge so popular? Well, it's because he's white. Why cheer for a Latino who hits 40 home runs when you can have a white guy who strikes out?"

Perhaps Boom could pen the official SportsJournalists.com note of congratulations to this lovely couple, who have found themselves in the news on the eve of their wedding:

They should have contacted Peter King, he would have written it up in a very sympathetic way.
