This won't be up long, but it's the at-bat where Harper got the double. The pitch he hits is at the 2:12 mark. I only post this to point out that you should pay attention to the yahoos sitting behind home plate.
Let's just say that if Harper was the star of the game, these guys were the moon.

I'd say it's 50-50 whether he does it. But, I love that the question is even being asked.

Can you think of a bigger story than Jeter batting .400?

Every time I see someone say Ted Williams has the batting average record, I kill seven Pekingese puppies.

He pitched in a minor-league game at Daytona I saw while I was in the States last year. 7 no-hit innings. Nice seeing it wasn't a fluke.

Strasburg is incredible. As a baseball fan, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed he stays healthy.

You can roll your eyes all you want. This isn't a three week thing. The 2012 Angels pretty much look like last year's version. Scioscia loves to acquire slap hitting AGGRESSIVE middle infielder types. Aybar. Izturis, Callaspo... Kendrick is the same thing. No plate discipline. Management loves to acquire well paid veterans who are Too Blessed To Stress (Wells actually said that last year), and the result is a completely boring, crappy product. Scioscia fucks around with the best hitters (see Napoli. See Trumbo.) And will give steaming piles of shit like Wells as many starts as he can.

Has a pitcher ever struck out 200, had an ERA of about 1 and won less than 10 games? Because that may happen this season.

So I had to clean up some junk here this a.m. and, as I was doing so, I thought I noticed a post that said: It's early but I'm not impressed with Harper.

It was posted at 9:11 eastern. Didn't the game start at 9:10?

I have no idea if he's going to turn out like everyone expects but, yeah, that's early. And these people wonder why others think they're complete idiots.

I was tied up being a big shot last night. One of our guests? Nationals GM Mike Rizzo. Class guy - had every reason to bail on us and did not. I went by his table and he was watching the game on his phone so I hung out and saw the first at-bat. I said, "It's early but I'm not impressed."

Seriously, was the double nice? The throw? Should this town be excited yet?

I got home and turned on the TV. Two on, two out in the ninth. One run lead, two strikes. First pitch I see is the wild one by Rodriguez that ties the game. Then a few minutes later Kemp's HR landed in my back yard.

Rodriguez has been really good this year. They all blow them here and there. My question is whether he's tough enough to understand that and move on. I guess we'll see.

The hit was a rocket and the throw was a laser. Get excited.

Pern, his throwing the helmet off while he is running is going to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

Unbelievable throw by Harper. If Wilson Ramos could catch, Strasburg would have won.

    Be excited, Moddy.

And start eyeing a bat for the deadline. Josh Willingham is likely to be available.
