Hmmm. Desperation to add an MVP to his list of accomplishments. Do I smell a motive to go the chemical route?

He has never deserved one and that must drive a selfish guy like Jeter nuts.

I wasn't wasting that effort only on you, sock puppet.

I don't think Jeter cares about an MVP award. I think his main goal is to break Berra's record for most World Series rings.

From Boswell's twitter. Yup. He's on Twitter. And he's fantastic....

Nats crowds thru 1st 11 home dates are up 21.5% over last year. 22,675 for Harper = +37% higher than avg M-T-W-Th early-season of '11-10-09

Again. Tuesday. Arizona. May 1. Everyday player. Not one person should have expected a sellout.

    Omar Vizquel retiring

Is he a Hall of Famer?

I say yes. In addition to his defense he is only one of 3 players to hit a HR in 4 different decades (joining Willie McCovey and Ted Williams). Who would have guessed 20 years ago that Omar would do that, and not Griffey or Sheffield?

Tying this back to Jeter, only 18,948 people witnessed him make his MLB debut in Seattle 5/29/1995.

Yeesh. Even for a troll, that's not gonna play.

We rehashed the arguments about the '09 MVP last year on this board. My argument was that the years Mauer and Jeter had were pretty much equal but when you factor in Jeter's history it tilts it in his favor. Most disagreed with me.

That would make sense, if the years they had were close to equal.

    Sadly, they weren't.

Sorry, Zeke. In 75 years when people are talking baseball, no one is going to remember Mauer and Morneau.

Which has what to do with an individual year?
