    Another excellent review, Gehrig.

To answer your question on the WCCW booking of Hayes as the ref, they had it as the fans voting Hayes in to be the ref.

Earlier that night, the Freebirds won the WCCW six-man belts in a tournament final from Iron Mike Sharpe and a couple other guys who weren't really much. The only thing is, it was Hayes, Gordy and David Von Erich who won the belts. They had Von Erich sub for Roberts, supposedly because Roberts was stuck in an airport in a snowstorm (I don't know if that was legit or not). So, they already had a Von Erich in the six-man storyline, only as a babyface team.

Then Hayes gets to be the ref. Flair bitches and moans, the fans think Hayes is on Kerry's side because he teamed up with his brother earlier in the evening, and eventually, they do the turn. Later, they did a storyline on whether David would give up his share of the belt to Roberts or not. I don't remember if he did, but it turned into part of the feud.

I could see myself being into that.

It looks like a damn good gimmick.

Baron: haha. I hadn't paid attention to avatars lately. Nice.

Thanks, Baron. I try to research these small things before posting my reviews, but didn't get the chance to do so before this one. It's good to have answers from the Wrestling fans here at SJ.

I think I saw that match on YouTube, and IIRC, the Freebirds were actually trying to help Kerry win the title from Flair, but Kerry refused to take the pin after Hayes' and Gordy's interference, they got into an argument, and that's when the Freebirds attacked Kerry, completing the heel turn.

That was a nicely booked heel turn, too.

Lord Tensai stealing a page from the Great Kabuki's book.

I knew it would probably be a screwy finish, but I was surprised to see Cena do the job.

    And Killer Khan's.

My favorite was the Great Muta, who would spew out different colors.

Still not sure what they do with Tensai; Cena is feuding with Lesnar most likely, so I'm not sure who Tensai's dance partner is. He still reminds me more of a Hogan "villain of the month" throwback (Zeus, Earthquake, Sgt. Slaughter as a heel) than a legitimate threat to the WWE's power structure. He definitely has a distinctive style at least, which I can best describe as a combination of no-selling and sandbagging.

I loved how Jericho just stopped his promo and the satellite feed while Punk was talking. For some odd reason, it was just so perfect. It was somewhat unexplained why the match had to be a Chicago Street Fight though; Johnny Ace is making the matches, so why put Jericho at a disadvantage?

I hope they don't do anything with the Khali and Show combo, which is just pure Wrestlecrap. At least if you're going to have a humor tag team, go with Santino and Funkasaurus, who at least have some upside. (By the way, the Funkasaurus is the face version of Tensai, in that the WWE doesn't really seem to have a clear idea of what to do with him.)
