I'm pretty sure only 25% of the crowd knows who he is.

Holy shit. Never thought we'd ever see him in a WWE ring again.

I wouldn't even go that far.

Yeah, it seemed like the crowd was fairly quiet.

Had he been in Philly or New York, he'd have gotten a standing ovation.

He also hadn't been in WWE in six years and the original ECW died 11 years ago, so the kiddies don't have a clue who he is.

He still gave a better promo than 90 percent of the roster can do tonight.

  5. Gotta wonder how long he's there and/or if he'll be part of creative. Either is a huge jolt.

And yeah, his promo was the only thing I didn't fast forward through when watching it this morning. What (another) dull ass Raw.

There is an oddly-timed WWE article on Grantland today: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7904055/why-john-cena-losing-rock-brock-lesnar-matters-wwe - Feels like it probably should have run before Extreme Rules.

  7. I guess because I didn't watch when he was at his peak I don't care much for him but Brock Lesnar just doesn't bring anything to the table for me. I've been completely bored by his storylines and adding Heyman who I recognized doesn't help me much. And John Laurinaitis is equally boring. I'm kind of quickly losing interest in WWE again. I want to see how Punk/Bryan plays out because I think those two on the big stage could be just awesome to watch but otherwise there just isn't much to like about WWE right now.

Lesnar got a huge push in his first stint, and was over with the fans mostly as a heel. His face run wasn't that great.

As someone noted earlier, he was best with Heyman as his mouthpiece. He's not a very good promo guy. But couple his WWE past with his UFC career, he has the ability to get over with the fans.

My dad absolutely hates Lesnar. Despises the guy, and thanks he's nothing but a wannabe bad-ass the WWE shouldn't have brought back.

I tried my best to convince him that Triple H's arm isn't really broken -- that it's all a work -- and that the WWE isn't going to fire Lesnar over this. He wouldn't have any of it, saying Lesnar should be gone after what he's done lately.

And don't get him started on Daniel Bryan, another guy he loathes. I can understand his hatred for Brock, but don't get his disdain for Bryan. My dad loves Punk yet hates Bryan and other guys like him. I tried -- failing again -- to get him to hop on the Bryan bandwagon, but nope. He just doesn't like the guy.

Huggy Jr. would get along just fine with your dad. He believes Lesnar is a bully who should have been fired for breaking Triple H's arm - he also believes it is really broken and he doesn't like Bryan at all. I am a huge fan of both Punk and Bryan, love watching their matches.

Hahaha. My dad is the one who got me hooked on this stuff. We used to watch USWA every Saturday morning when I was a kid.

But we have totally different tastes. He loves Cena, I can't stand him. He hates Bryan, I love the guy. He hates Lesnar, I'm a mark.

Punk singing the seventh inning stretch at Wrigley tonight. His first pitch left a little to be desired.
