Some YouTube fun when Roddy Piper turned face in NWA by saving Gordon Solie from an attack by Don Muraco:
    .

The best part is during the pull-apart, where Mr. Wrestling II is part of the group that comes to the back to help break it up. He's still wearing his mask even though he's also got on a brown velour shirt and jeans. It's pretty incredible.

Don't the masked wrestlers always wear their masks? I've always imagined Rey Mysterio sitting at home in the morning eating a bowl of cereal with his kids, the little eagles on the sides getting in his way.

Was always great when the guys stormed the ring from the back, wearing jeans, boots and no shirt!

That is great stuff right there. I also liked the two wrestlers in the ring just standing there and watching it all happen. I thought one of them might've been Ric Flair, but who knows.

Heyman brings it again on the mic, and some fan must have attacked him off-camera. King and Cole were talking about Heyman to the camera, then King looked to the ring, said "Go get him," then they both looked to the ring silently for a few seconds before turning back to the camera.

  6. The Big Show-Larinaitis segment is enough to turn fans off. Pretty predictable and weak, WWE.

The same with the Cena/Laurinitis segment. A few chuckles, but that's it.

Shit, instead of "Puck You", I would have settled for Ace making some Steelers remarks, and then have a bunch of Steelers join Cena in the ring and watch Ace cower. Nope.

Not to mention, it's a pretty sad state of affairs for the WWE when the top heel is a middle-aged executive, and the No. 1 heel contender for the WWE title is actually getting cheered for chanting one of the most basic three-letter words in the dictionary.

  8. Did I miss it or did Punk have any sort of involvement in this Raw? I did miss about 30 minutes of the show. I saw him tell AJ she's crazy but was that all?

Laurinaitis couldn't be more boring. God, this is awful stuff.

Punk tagged with Santino to beat Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan. That was the first match, probably about 20 minutes in, so that's why you missed it. It was OK, Santino had a couple of funny spots like getting screwed up by the ropes when he attempted a plancha and falling a few feet short when he dove for a tag

I'm envisioning for Sunday's Cena-Laurinaitis that Big Show comes back to interfere on Laurinaitis' behalf. He's desperate enough to go to the dark side to get his job back, and since he's been fired, he's not a current superstar and therefore wouldn't be caught up in the no-interference stipulation.

  11. That actually wouldn't be too bad if done right. They'd need to have Big Show be a little bit hesitant to do it at first but then fully embrace being Johnny's henchman and all that would come with it (title shots, prime matches, what have you). It would actually make a lot of sense for it to happen which means it almost certainly won't.

For whatever reason, Tensai seems to be the guy in the henchman role and I'm guessing WWE is committed to that.

Tensai is one of the worst characters in years. I can't stand him.
