Aww, you didn't post the clip of him trying to piss in the ECW ring?

Seriously, great choice for a dedication. I love how the fans are basically sitting on their hands at the start of the match and by the end, they're giving them a standing ovation.

Loved Pillman and Austin in the Hollywood Blondes, managed, for a time anyway, by Jesse "The Body" Ventura.

One of the most under-rated tag teams of all time, in my opinion.

  4. Goodness, has it really been 13 years since this?

Wow, remember it like it was yesterday.

    The RAW tribute show:

Not to take anything away from those posts, but it was kind of shocking to see things like Stephanie before the boob job and Percy Pringle wearing something other than a black suit.

Indeed, Stephanie looked like she was still in high school.

Macho Man Randy Savage approves from Heaven. (Too soon?)

  9. I was a punk kid back when the Owen incident happened but had second row tickets to that Raw show. I remember being a complete jackass about it when it happened because the tribute show was nothing but guys reminiscing about Owen and a bunch of matches that didn't advance the story. I understood but I remember being pissed back then.

Crazy to think it was that long ago.

My wife and her brother were at that show, the only WWE show they ever attended.

Grantland has an interesting article up on the WWE from The Masked Wrestler: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7964226/indie-wrestling-coming-age-cm-punk-daniel-bryan-wwe-new-bipolar-universe

I agree with a good portion of the column, although I think it falls apart a bit at the end - I'm not exactly sure the Hogan / Cena model is the best for the business. It seems to trade a chance at an Attitude-like peak for steady profit margins. I also think it means that your audience is locked into (mostly) 8 to 16 year old boys (main group) and 25+ year old men (secondary group), with little other spillover but parents.

    Working as intended.
