Hoping it'll be quite some time before that happens. Funny thing, though: I recall people talking about Edge being a good color guy when he hung them up, and he's not shown the inclination. Yet we suffer through Booker T.

Is he still doing that show on SciFi?

    Awesome line.

  5. What's the reasoning in not putting William Regal into the role? He was great on NXT and while he remains on the active roster, they could do the same thing with him as they've with Lawler the last decade-plus: let him put on the tights on occasion, throw him into a storyline or two while letting him play the heel announcer role that King has since relinquished.

I loved Regal when he was the Raw GM as well. Sucks that he got hit with a suspension just as they were ready to give him a major push a few years ago.

It could be that he's not interested. I don't think that announcing is that glamorous of a job - You're on the road and "performing" the whole night, albeit with your words as opposed to your body, plus you apparently have Vince McMahon screaming in your ear the whole time. Piper also used to do it way back when, but he hasn't since, and he's a guy who will jump at pretty much any paycheck.

Yes, I believe having McMahon in your ear is a big deterrent to the job. That was a big reason Mick Foley left his WWE announcing gig.

Call me crazy, but I was really into the night when Ventura hosted Raw and had Vince on commentary with him. Brought back some memories. I wouldn't mind having those two do it again. Even as a gag.

Totally agree Bradley. McMahon and Ventura were a great combination.

I remember that well. It was so weird hearing Vince saying R-Truth's name in a match.

That's a bit harsh to say, but it does seem like Ryder has slid way back down the card from when he was getting the rub from Cena.

That was great, and it was made even better by the fact they played it straight. Just like old times, with no "Evil Mr. McMahon" or some update to Ventura's character.
Sadly, we probably won't see it again. Ventura has said McMahon is pissed at him for not supporting Linda's senate run, and the two haven't spoken in a year or two.
