Lots happened tonight. A fun recap of my favorite moments. (NOTE: Pretty much all spoilers if you DVRed the whole show):

Degeneration X reunited (with X-Pac), AJ is the new General Manager (and isn't married to Daniel Bryan), Kane and Undertaker teamed up, Hornswoggle gave out some toys, Little Jimmy jumped rope, Hacksaw has saggy man boobs, Dude Love danced, Mae Young's hand is all grown up, WWE actually acknowledged Layla has a belt, Lita had her way with Edge THE ONE MAN BAND BAABBBBEEEEYYYY, Jericho wore a blinky coat, Stephanie McMahon slapped Heyman, Triple H yelled a lot, Brock Lesnar bored everyone, raspy Regis said hello, VADER TIME, JBL randomly showed up, Ron Simmons cussed, VADER TIME, Fozzy Bear cut a promo, King loves Tout, Charlie Sheen, Sonic shakes, iPhone Apps and JR, The Miz is awesome and has a new belt, two Mexican guys in masks did gymnastics, John Cena wore jorts and C.M. Punk turned heel and kicked The Rock into 2013.

Surprise no shows: Stone Cold Steve Austin, where the hell was Edge, Cactus Jack, Mankind.

Surprise folks who made the cut: Every jobber The Undertaker punched, the minister I'd never heard of, backstage interviewer guy from the mid-1990s.

Punk turning heel more than made up for the shitty 2 hours and whatever before that. I didn't think they'd pull the trigger, but at least he didn't turn while they were in Chicago.

And if it's not Rock-Punk for the title at the Rumble, this turn was nothing but a waste.

This post is infinitely more awesome if you sing it to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire."

And you aren't familiar with the Doctor of Style, Slick!? Shame on you, sir. Shame on you. Say 10 "Jive Soul Bros" as penance.

Nobody in the crowd knew who Slick was. He got absolutely no reaction.

    My mini-review:

    - The DX segment at the beginning went a bit too long for my taste, since they get reunited every year now, plus we just saw Road Dogg a few months ago. Still, it was nice to see “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn and X-Pac, and it was still an enjoyable segment. (Weird thing to me: Why are they still allowed to say “suck it” but pretty much everything else is now PG-restricted?)

    - Similarly, the cameos by Lita, the other legends, Mean Gene, Slick and The Fink were awesome. Yeah, Slick didn’t get any reaction from the crowd, and this was probably the first Raw he was ever on, but still. It’s not like they could have used Brother Love, since he’s now booking for TNA.

    - Mae Young’s son stole the show for me. I can’t believe they followed up on that!

    - The Punk turn was unexpected to me, but I like it if they go back to the “I’m the best in the world” character. I’m sure he’ll explain next week, but I’m sure the answer is also kind of obvious; why are Rocky and Cena getting the focus even though they keep losing?

    Nope, not familiar with Slick.

My earliest recollections of the WWF are from the late 80s-early 90s when they used to have WWF programming on Saturday mornings.

I remember life before The Undertaker, but not much past that.

I really enjoyed typing that post because it was such a ridiculous three hours. Didn't feel like any other Raw I've ever watched.

I still wanna know where Edge was.

    First of all,

Jelly, if you didn't pay attention to the first two hours, just stop watching. You actually missed some good stuff.

Second, I pretty much loved the whole show minus the AJ as general manager. Really? That was the big payoff? GMAFB.

Third, CM Punk. The man LOVES to play a heel. He's at home doing it. He'll be incredibly awesome and what better way to do it by GTS'ing the Rock, who still is over as a face despite the fact he's never around.

Damn good effort by the E.

Edge? SCSA? Hell, where was BOOKER T in the whole show besides on video?

Would've liked to have seen one kind of classic match perhaps Foley vs. Kane and then Taker intervenes on Kane's behalf to give Foley one last Tombstone? I dunno.

Great stuff. Little things to nitpick on.

Slick wasn't even among the WWF's top managers in the late 80s. Heenan and Jimmy Hart were the main guys, although Slick did manage Akeem and Bossman during their main event heel runs.

Still, it was a nice touch, seeing the fact that Slick really is a minister.

And I think he's been on Raw before with a couple of the legends cameos. Plus, he briefly managed Kamala as a babyface in the early 90s.

God, I hope not. And he better not be jobbing out to Charlie Fucking Sheein.

I could have done without Charlie Sheen last night, but, honestly, he could have been awful. And he wasn't. Even laughed a couple times.
