Eh. That's debatable. It seems like he's lost a lot of steam lately. Not sure if that's his doing or the writers, but he isn't the same bad-ass heel he was when he first broke in.

As much as we're all in agreement that we'd love to see a heel Cena, I think we can also agree that his turn needs to be a huge moment. Like "Hogan joins the nWo" level huge. Until there's an outstanding foil for him to have that moment, I'd rather see him stay a face and not waste the turn. Punk might have given him that foil with the path he was on, but they're obviously heading in a different direction there.

Besides, a case could be made that Cena is already the biggest heel in wrestling. Half the audience boos him and cringes anytime he mentions the words "WWE title." In the internet smark era, when a great heel is appreciated and applauded for the way he plays the part, Cena has an inside track on true wrestling villainy. It's not an easy thing to pull off.

Another Raw 1000 observation: Upon his triumphant(?) return, even X-Pac didn't generate X-Pac heat. Probably because half the life audience aren't old enough to remember him. Cue the sad horns from "Price is Right."

Per the AP, The Great Khali has undergone surgery to remove a pituitary gland tumor.

Sounds like the same surgery that Big Show had several years ago.

As expected, SmackDown was just a recap of RAW 1000, along with a bunch of random Tout videos. Oh, I cannot wait for that fad to end. It's brutal.

Seeing the replay of the end of Punk/SuperCena, it's clear from a mile away that a swerve was coming. Why? Because of the awful announcing of Lawler, who kept screaming that Punk should run in and save SuperCena. Uh, why? Punk has never liked SuperCena, would never save SuperCena. Punk is suddenly worried about picking up a cheap victory because of a run-in? Why now? Punk had no problem winning the title last year at MitB after Johnny Ace intervened. Punk had no problem claiming last year's win over SuperCena at SummerSlam even though it was made clear that SuperCena had his foot on the rope. Did the writers sleep through the Punk/SuperCena feud last year?

Just because Punk is portrayed as a face doesn't mean he's supposed to help SuperCena. Punk also has no issue with Show. Why get involved? You didn't see Stone Cold run out to save people all the time. (Tangent: It was so annoying for a while there a few years ago when fans chanted for SuperCena to make the save during every beat down, even ones in which he was no way a part of the storyline. Ugh.) Isn't SuperCena ... well, SuperCena? Who makes the miraculous comeback anyway? I'm really glad he didn't.

Also, having Rock run out to confront Show made no sense, other than to get Rock out there for Punk's turn. Why did this have to happen now? We all know Rock isn't coming back for at least five months. People will forget the GTS to Rock by then, and we'll have to watch replay after replay come the second week of January.

I know we've seen worse, but the whole thing is senseless. Not the Punk turn. That's fine with me. I like the way they've used the burying of the WWE Championship and Punk over the past nine months as a catalyst for a turn. But the swerve itself wasn't done very well.

Speaking of Smackdown, did anyone see the Fatal Fourway match? What a great, great match. Seriously. One of the best I've seen on that show for a while now.

That AW character said one of his guys was like "Kobe Bryant at a hotel in Colorado." I think he's going to get a talking to about that backstage. Not a very PG thing to do to allude to the allegations of the sexual assault of a teenager.

This is like when Daniel Bryan got canned for choking Justin Roberts with his tie during the Nexus invasion.
