How is being put in 4-5 segments being buried?

  3. Quick thoughts:

Would like to have seen Orton come back in a more meaningful way. I'm ready for him to be back in the title picture though I'm sure the E isn't going to do that to reward him for his latest suspension. But either way, coming back to squash Slater ruined a potential nice run in opportunity or something a bit more surprising.

I know I may be alone on this but I'm also not pleased that Kofi had to do the job to one of those tag team jobbers. Kofi is just too good for this B.S. but I guess he's never going to get his shot to be in the main event picture.

Didn't we just have a triple threat match for the WWE title at a PPV recently? A little creativity would be nice.

FS: I think Kofi's best comparison is Shelton Benjamin. Both were really good in the ring, but not really great on the mic. If that guy hangs around forever (Chris Benoit) then the WWE seems to eventually give them a belt, but otherwise I think he's appropriately slotted into the mid-card / jobber to the stars.

As far as Orton, I think he's close to Jeff Hardy territory at this point, in that he doesn't get a title, and maybe even a title shot, without first having clean drug tests for a year or more. If it wasn't for him having a bunch of success before failing drug tests, he would probably already be gone, last name or not.

If they make him look stupid or shitty in those 4-5 segments.

Which, like I said, I'm not sure if they're doing or not. His match with Sheamus was excellent, but at some point, they should have him win, even if by crook. And the crazy stuff, the jury is out on. I get what they're trying to have him do by cementing his heel status by telling the fans not to chant, but they have to be careful that the fans don't just stop reacting to him altogether.

  6. Fair points. I still think Orton could have at least been brought back into something a bit more meaningful than a squash over Slater.

As for Kofi, I don't really know his backstory because I wasn't watching for a few years when he first appeared. Is he really that bad on the mic? He never seems to really get a chance and when he does, he's not great but there are people that seem to be worse that actually get opportunities. Just seems strange not to give him a shot because his physical skills are off the charts.

He really is that bad on the mic. They tried to give him a main event push a few years ago in a feud with Orton, but he was so bad on the mic.

He's kind of like the Sin Cara of bad talkers.

I'm kind of bored with Randy Orton. He's turned too many times to be credible as a heel or even a crazy, dangerous tweener. He needs to punt someone soon.

Maybe they didn't want to reward him with a high-profile feud coming off a 60-day suspension (and chatter that they might just dump him outright), but Orton would have been perfect as the shocking turn at the end of last week's Raw. He's much better suited as a heel anyway, and Orton-Rock would have been a fun match.

If they were set on turning Punk, they should have had him join up with Heyman. Remember, he's a Heyman guy. He already had a beef with Triple H. And who better for a someone who sees himself as an outsider to align himself with than the ultimate outsider, Brock Lesnar?

I was disappointed with how Punk has developed so far. The last segment made him a typical heel, when all the pieces were there for him to continue his Summer of Punk character from last year.

AJ as GM doesn't have legs. By Survivor Series, if not sooner, she'll be feuding with the Smackdown GM and they'll have another Raw vs. SD match to determine the permanent GM for both brands.

Your complaint is that you want Punk taken out of the title picture and relegated to lesser feuds?

Yep. Solid opening promo, weak finish whining to A.J.

My complaint is Punk is playing a heel role that anyone from Alberto Del Rio to Christian to Dolph Ziggler have played or are playing. He's the champion, so he's in the title picture no matter who he feuds with. Even had they just left it at Punk-Rock and not had him attack Cena last night, that would have been fine. Now he's just another model of Average Top Card Heel. Soon he'll be telling the fans to shut up and he'll be teaming with Daniel Bryan and Ziggler as if nothing were the matter. Maybe a nice six-man tag match with Cena and those longtime faces, Kane and Chris Jericho.
