Punk isn't "Just" a heel. He's a fantastic heel, and he's absolutely the best they've got at it. I don't see what's wrong with using the best guy in one of the most important roles there is: champion top heel.

I read somewhere that he's not punting anyone anymore for fear of giving the other guy a concussion.

Couldn't finish watching Raw through my eyelids but what I saw was good. Just missed the last hour.

    Few things.

They are not burying Daniel Bryan.

I hadn't seen a lot of Damien Sandow before the past two weeks, man, he's a perfect Genius clone. Well done.

CM Punk, he just keeps getting better. His spiel to King was perfect because it was the truth.

Right, I agree with that. But he can be doing a lot better than Average Top Card Heel schtick. We already get that with Ziggler, Del Rio, Bryan and Big Show. And while he can still salvage an interesting character out of this, having him attack Cena and then bitch at AJ for setting up the obvious three-way at Summerslam is not a promising leading indicator. Even his opening promo hinted at trouble. "The show should be focused on me, I don't get enough respect" is pretty much the Bobby Roode paper's thesis statement. He's a unique talent, and his character should reflect that. Instead, he's been a neutered face for the past few months, and now he's a heel on a show heavy with them. No reason he can't be a edgier face that hates Rock, or an establishment-hating character as he was last year.

It would be awesome if they could get Lanny Poffo in for a couple appearances, not that anyone would recognize him but the smarkiest of smarks. He has one of the best shoot episodes of all-time, and you kind of get the feeling that The Genius wasn't that much of a stretch for him. He came across as a very well-educated guy.

It didn't help that he screwed up in the ring with Orton back when that was a rocket sled to Future Endeavorland.

    MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTER KENNEDY

    KENNEDY!

At least that was one of the last straws that got him sent packing.

    Albert/Tensai joins A.W. in the going-a-little-too-far territory.

I actually liked Mr. Kennedy. I think the bigger issue is that he was made out of glass while in the WWE - he seemed to get injured any time they were going to push him. He's the JD Drew of wrestling, in that I enjoy when he's actually out there, but you know he's going to miss a show a month for nagging injuries and miss a month or two at some point because of something more serious.

The ability to just show up is seemingly pretty big with the WWE's TV needs. If you look at guys who've they let go, you have a lot of behavior and/or injury issues that led to missed shows - Angle, the Hardys, Mr. Kennedy.

So let's see, Big Show must be Big Papi. Does great despite being overweight.

Kofi is Carl Crawford. Has a world of potential, never realizes it.

Cena is Dustin Pedroia. The MVP, although everyone always wonders how the hell he does it.

Punk is Adrian Gonzalez. The guy who should be MVP, but you never can quite trust him.

John Laurinitis is Bobby V. Very poor fits.

Zack Ryder is Daniel Nava. He's a joke, but then he forces himself into the spotlight.

Randy Orton is Josh Beckett. World of talent, but always manages to fuck things up with his attitude.

And of course, Vince is John Henry. Nuff said.

Punk was great on the mic Monday night. A great heel.

So, this coming Raw is being billed as "HBK Appreciation Night," which can only mean that Brock Lesnar is going to make an appearance and beat the living shit out of him to hype his feud with Triple H.
