Nash is great on the mic, lousy as a worker. I remember a match where he couldn't take a Sid Vicious power bomb properly and blew out an elbow.

I see Bret Hart being brought up again. I'm sure most here disagree with me but I still think Montreal was a work.

I fondly recall an old segment of Raw in which Jericho and someone else was looking for a third tag partner. This was after Nash returned to The E in 2002 and then left with an injury. I forget who Jericho's partners were, but the exchange was hilarious as they were throwing out suggestions. Kevin Nash's name came up ...

Jericho: "Nash can't pick up a phone without tearing something."

I had forgotten about that. Funny stuff.

No way it was a work. Especially not with how those involved have acted toward each other over the years.

Agreed. I don't blame VKM for what he did. I wouldn't risk seeing my championship show up on the rival's show and wind up trashed, had I been in that position.

I see what you guys are saying but how do you know the way they acted toward each after Montreal wasn't kayfabe?

I understand Vince's need for not having his championship trashed, But there was a better way to handle it.

Bret was being ridiculous about losing in Canada, but it was undertandable that he didn't want to lose to HBK. Michaels' attitude was absolutely horrible back then (even he admits it), and he wasn't willing to lose back to Bret. Hart wasn't even sure if Michaels would hurt him on purpose. Wrestlers have to be able to trust each other.

Seeing that Bret was willing to lose to Austin and others, if I was in Vince's shoes, I would have given him a choice. Lose to Michaels in the US, or lose to someone else in Canada.

Bret punched Vince out, giving him a concussion. He also willingly supported Owen's wife in her lawsuit. Although, in Bret's book, at Owen's funeral they seemed to have a brief period where they would make peace, they didn't for another five or six years. Pretty long time to look at something with a payoff down the road.

Anyone been watching the new NXT? There's been some great matches thus far.

I get my dates mixed up: Was the screwjob before or after Alundra Blayze (I think that's what she was going by then) jumped to WCW and threw the women's title in a garbage can?

Michaels was nothing but a punk back then, but I can't really blame Bret for not wanting to lose the strap in Canada.

Bret's ego couldn't fathom losing the belt in Canada, and in business you can't trust anyone. I have no problem with how Vince got his title back. It's called doing the job for a reason, and Bret woudln't be professional and do the job.

Montreal was after. The Madusa/Blayze bit, IIRC, was late '95. Reason enough for Vince to be a little paranoid nonetheless, plus it would've been completely fair concerning what Flair did with the NWA belt six years prior.

And Bradley's right...like it or not, when your turn's up, you do the job.
