Antonio's match winning hold on Santino must be the "crotch grab."

My boss, who's almost as big a wrestling fan as I am, asked me to rate the PPV. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 2.5.

Best match of the night, hands down, was Jericho-Ziggler. Worst match? It's a tie between Lesnar-Trips and the WWE title match.

Wouldn't be the first (or last) time I was wrong.

But Trips did what was best for business. I give him props for that.

So in other words, the best match featured a guy who is bailing to go tour with his rock band.

  5. Hard to believe they haven't had one of the two major titles change hands since Wrestlemania.

Had to backtrack a few pages to find this, but I thoroughly enjoyed Wednesday's episode (just finished watching it). Seth Rollins and Michael McGillicutty had a pretty awesome spot where the latter had the former set up for a superplex, then Rollins went for a sunset flip powerbomb attempt that was blocked, then Rollins eventually picked up McGillicutty, carried him most of the way across the ring, then powerbombed him into the turnbuckle on the other side.

I liked The Ascension as well. Nothing fancy, just beat the crap out of people. Their high-low move they did after the match officially ended was fantastic as well.

Also, a Scotty 2 Hotty sighting, thanks to an open challenge from the ONE MAN BAND, BAY-BAY! :D

Shows like NXT and Superstars are more my style...a little entertainment, but mostly just wrestling. Superstars had a couple decent matches Thursday...Sandow and Gabriel getting a full time slot for a match was fun to see.

Question for Gehrig (or anyone): Is there a consistent place to get NXT? Or is it just hope somebody uploads it to YouTube?

Indeed. And, though I like Sheamus, it wouldn't hurt for him to drop the WHC. Then again, with the ambiguous finish, maybe they're setting that up?

Uh, I forgot it was on. Shows how exciting the card was.

I'm glad Punk retained, even if he's just going to be buried by Rock-Cena II in about six months. From some interviews I've read, I don't think he wants to wrestle past 35. He didn't rule out taking a few years off and returning for a non-wrestling role, like commentary. This may be his big run before hanging it up. I would hope not.

And Del Rio had his foot on the rope? Oh, great, another excuse to keep that guy in the mix. He bores me to death. He's a mechanic. Just put Ziggler in the title picture already. Even if he does feud with Sheamus.

By the way, there was a nice Grantland preview about SummerSlam, noting the irony of Sheamus being a face of the Be a Star anti-bullying campaign, yet booking him to steal and vandalize another man's car and face no consequences.

(Which is all I read Grantland for, since I'm not big into traditional sports outside of college ball.)

Anyway, I also read another interview that Triple H is pushing for longer title runs and less hot-shotting the titles around. That's obviously the case. Punk has had the longest run of any standing champ so far, followed by Santino (until tonight), the tag titles have stayed on K-Truth for months, Sheamus has held since WM28. The Miz is the most recent title change, winning the IC belt from Christian and ... well, nobody knows or cares who holds the Divas title.

  9. I'd like to see Dolph cash in and then find himself in a good, long feud with Orton. They could have some good stuff because both trend toward tweener roles it seems right now. I'd like to see them both in that gray area and feuding over the World title.

Now way they're putting Orton anywhere near a title with two strikes. He didn't even have a SS match tonight.

At least HHH did what was right for business for once. I do find it funny/ironic that the crowd was doing the "you tapped out" chant at him. Talk about something backfiring.
