I think Swagger has been buried too much to use in the angle - he wouldn't be believable. Maybe if they let him squash guys for a couple months, to build him back up first, but by then Lesnar and Heyman's contracts would probably be up anyway.

There's been talk of them re-upping Lesnar. Possibly Heyman, too.

  3. Of all the bad angles and gimics the E is trying, Ziggler isn't one of them. I think he's a natural for this schtick and pulls it off pretty well. He sells fantastic in the ring and pulls off smug well. He's not as good as was Henning, but not bad.

Funny thing is, he's the only guy among the group who's managed to do anything since.

The E was pretty high on Ken Doane, but he flamed out pretty quickly.

That sums up Ziggler very well.

We laugh at its stupidity, but damn was the Spirit Squad good at its job as heels. They were annoying as hell, just like you'd expect from a group of male cheerleaders.

Maybe it's just one of those things where once you think it, you can't stop thinking it and it becomes reinforced.

I like watching Ziggler work. There are very few guys I'd say that about, because I'm usually a "fast-forward through the matches to get to the promos" kind of fan.

But I can't stand it when he tries to do little dances or flick his hair or whatever. It's just bad acting. It looks like something out of a bad local indie show. I was young enough during Mr. Perfect's heyday that he's kind of a haze, but I get more of a Billie Gunn/Shawn Michaels vibe and he's not pulling it off.

I feel like I'm complaining too much lately, so I'll list some things I like:

    1) Sheamus. It's really hard to be an entertaining PG non-tweener face. but he's doing well with it.

    2) Three-hour Raw. It's working way better than I would have guessed. I like having the minor players get a little room to breathe. I liked seeing Ryback get a little mini-feud with Jinder Mahal instead of just squashing locals. I liked seeing Swagger get some backstage camera time to acknowledge his burying. I don't think they could have pulled off the hilarious anger management sketches in the two-hour time frame.

    3) Daniel Bryan. Okay, I finally get it now. Yes, he is that awesome.

Okay, after all that, one more complaint: I like seeing the secondary belts get contested, but it's a little silly to have four active men's singles belts on a single show. I know there's a lot of history behind each of them, but they need to unify some of it or something.

That's part of what makes him fantastic. His schtick is great.

The guy is much better when he's a heel, but it seems he's having fun in this role.

    Finally! :p

They aren't going to get rid of the IC or U.S. belts -- too much history involved, as you said. They unified the IC and European titles several years ago. And just think, there used to be a lot more singles titles: hardcore title, light-heavyweight/cruiserweight title, two women's belts, the European title ...

Four (actually, five with the Diva's belt) is just fine.
