2012 Pro Wrestling Thread

Quick tangent: Upon checking some sites for updates, I noticed a list of possible DVD releases for 2013. One was for a Best of Goldberg ... uh, that's gotta be a single disc? His matches rarely went more than five minutes (excluding the 10-minute intro).

 

who did he fight? I thought I saw Orton fighting Punk re the poll.

 

Yeah he did. He teamed with Orton against Punk and Ziggler.

Scary thing is, even though he's in great shape for a 62-year-old, he's still 62 years old.

 

Orton and Lawler vs. Punk and Ziggler. They're supposed to close with HArt interviewing Cena.

 

Rewinding, during the Kane-Bryan tag match, you can see Jerry being tended to on the side, and the crowd starts chanting his name. Cole is stammering.

 

Orton and Punk went to a DQ when Ziggler interfered. Then a ziggler-Punk vs. Lawler-Orton tag match was started.

 

What Cole just said makes it sound like it might be a stroke or aneurysm. Just a guess, though.

 

Bret must really need the cash.

 

The E's iPad app swears up and down that it's not part of the show.

 

This is a shoot, folks. If it's not, then a lot of people who'd know if it was have been really fooled.

 

Another tangent: Bold promo by Punk early in the night, claiming the Attitude Era may never have happened without the Screwjob. Yeah, a lot of it is posturing for the storyline, but a good bit of truth to that. But, I guess you can joke about such things a decade after putting your only real competition out of business.

EDIT TO ADD: Great tweet from the guy who writes wrestling for Grantland, re: Punk's promo ... "Everything Punk just said might all seem like fantasy, but if Cena flies backwards around the world fast enough, it could still happen.”

 

Hate to go to bed with things still sort of up in the air, but I've got Army business to do tomorrow. Prayers for the King.
