It will be interesting to see Miz and Ryback. Will Ryback take Miz's title or will this be the semi-end of his big push?

  2. It seems as if they were hesitant to put the title on Miz more recently, or even keep a title on Miz before, but I just don't see the purpose with taking it away from him for a guy like Ryback. He just doesn't have the same buzz as Goldberg did, and doesn't have much of a future with the belt, whereas a guy like Miz does. At least he has genuine heat with the fans, is decent on the mike, and his in-ring presence has improved greatly since he started. I know Miz jobbed in the not-so-distant past to one of the flavors of the month (can't remember if it was Tensai or Broadus) but jobbing to Ryback while holding the belt would pretty much put an end to any legitimacy with Miz. Ryback is a nice little distraction on the midcard, I just don't see any long-term benefits from giving him a belt. It cheapens Miz and the belt all in the same process.

What you say makes a lot of sense. Now whether the WWE will do something that makes sense remains to be seen.

Thing is, Ryback does have charisma. Just not in this character. But his NXT-era Skip Sheffield character had it for sure.

  5. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention but the fans certainly seem to be more into Ryback than is implied above. Maybe not to Goldberg levels but I'd think enough that maybe they put the IC strap on him to see if he can take it further with some legitimacy instead of squashing jobbers non stop.

I agree he might get a secondary title eventually, but doubt they'll ever push him to a World/WWE title level.

If he ever goes back to the Skip Sheffield gimmick he had when he first came in, I could see him maybe winning one of the two big belts down the road. But that's a long way off, and I doubt they're going to be stopping his current gimmick anytime soon.

And I, too, laughed my ass off when he took the second sub from Jared.

Didn't watch the last hour because I fell asleep halfway through the second hour.

Early on I kept expecting Teddy Long to come out and say "Tag match, playa!"

I think he could get to that level. He's on the slow burn squash path right now, which I think works for faces (Warrior, Goldberg) way, way better than it ever did for heels (Snitsky, Zeus). He might not have staying power and could flame out within a year or two, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was involved in the title picture eventually.

Just saw this: Cena had surgery on his right arm today to remove bone chips in his elbow.

The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews.
