I think it's just different enough, because it puts the heat on the up and coming heel instead of the guy who doesn't need the help. Plus the statute of limitations (according to Jim Cornette) on an angle is 7 years, and it's been more than 8 years since the Evolution turn.

Yeah, summer of 2004. Time flies when wrestling is mediocre.

Like MMII said, they can rewrite the MITB stuff however they want. I think they even did it at some point in the last couple years to set up a title match other than the one that was "supposed to" happen. Or with the Kennedy-Edge switcheroo.
They're the WWE. It's their rules. They can do whatever they want.

Dammit, if SuperCena can blow a Royal Rumble victory by demanding to face Orton for the title at Elimination Chamber/No Way Out in February and not at Wrestlemania, who gives a shit about the sanctity of the MitB contract?

Not to mention, I thought the original MITB rules were that the holder could challenge ANY champion at ANY time.

That means technically, if Ziggler wanted to challenge Eve for the Divas title, he could.

They were ... when there was only one briefcase. They've made it a point to mention that the contracts are for the World titles from their respective shows.

Oh and as a random side note, I'm planning on going to WrestleMania this year. Anyone on SJ going to be there?

Only problem now is, the brand split is done. So there really isn't respective shows.

And Schiez, I'm hoping to go, if certain things fall a certain way.

  10. That's what I would do if I was him. Really any situation to have physical contact with Eve would be top priority.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily true. They're still calling it the Raw supershow and there's still two GMs so, in theory, Raw and Smackdown are separate entities. Not to mention that they built up the MITB with Ziggler as a title shot "at the world heavyweight championship".

It wouldn't shock me if they changed it up one day and allowed a winner to cash in for the other belt (Mostly because it would be a big swerve no one saw coming) but with the way they've built up Ziggler and the way the title picture is with Punk-Rock-Cena over on Raw, I can't imagine Ziggles does anything but cash in on Sheamus ... probably after his match at either Hell in the Cell or TLC.

Playing catchup on my wrestling viewing (been in Army school all month, so don't hate on me too much) and am watching the Sept. 17 edition of Raw.
J.R. and JBL were on there and when Broadus Clay came out for his match, JR described him as "Bodacious." The first thing that ran through my mind was, "He's a bull?", because if you didn't know, Bodacious is one of the legendary bucking bulls of rodeo. JBL immediately responded, "He's a bull?", to which JR replied something along the lines of, "Yes, yes he is." I laughed out loud and had to rewind it twice just to make sure I heard it right.
I miss JBL and JR on commentary so much. A booth with them together would've been 10,000 kinds of awesome.
