You mean it doesn't rain in Miami?

They have had a Wrestlemania in Orlando, Florida, it rains more in Florida than Jersey.

Yeah, but that's a warm rain in Florida.

Rain in New Jersey in April ain't going to be warm.

If they can have a Super Bowl there, they can have a Wrestlemania there.

I'm assuming they'll set up some sort of roof covering for the ring and the ringside area in case it does rain. If they don't, they'd be tempting disaster.

And while they're at it, they should truck in some man-made snow and put a snowbank near the entrance. Someone can get thrown into the snow.

Hey, if this Kane-Cena-Ryder angle is still going in a year's time it wouldn't surprise if Kane put Ryder in there headfirst and left him for dead.
And since it's New Jersey, they should make it a barrel of toxic waste. It'd be a two-fer spot -- they have the classic bit, plus you turn Ryder into a "Toxic Avenger" ripoff who returns from the dead to challenge Cena.

Is anybody else surprised that WWE opted to hold WrestleMania 29 in New York, rather than WrestleMania 30? (What with WrestleManias 1, 10 and 20 all being held in New York.) Haven't read much news about the announcement, but did the fact that the Super Bowl will be held at MetLife in February have any effect on WrestleMania following less than two months later?

Super Bowl at Met Life isn't being held until February 2014. Next year's is in New Orleans. WWE said they wanted to beat the NFL to the punch of having a marquee event there.

And this is what Orlando looked like ... with a cover over the ring:

Which answers the question about why they can't have WM 30 there. Besides, in keeping with the pattern, they'd have to put it in MSG, where 1, 10 and 20 were. And much like the NCAA tournament, Wrestlemania is too big to play in arenas.

Good interview with CM Punk today on ESPN Milwaukee:

I might be mistaken, but I think the WWE might be coveting Cowboy Stadium for that in Dallas. IIRC, it was either McMahon or Dana White or one of the boxing promoters who were hoping to set an attendance / PPV record by using that venue. Mania 30 would probably offer a good chance, since the WWE would presumably pull out all the stops (plenty of Stone Cold appearances, maybe bring in a Terry Funk or some other TX legend, try to lure Brock Lesnar and The Rock into doing things, etc.).

Should have included the years in my last post. I knew SB 48 is scheduled for MetLife in 2014, but it sure didn't read like it.

And Gutter, thanks for the confirmation on why WWE scheduled MetLife for April 2013. That was exactly the sort of comment I was looking for and hadn't seen; makes perfect sense.
