2012 Pro Wrestling Thread

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Rockbottom, Dec 26, 2011.

  1. I have to agree on the Cena stuff. Since I wasn't watching wrestling when Cena first came on the scene, I have no basis for comparison. But the guy I saw last night, I really liked.

Even though he's on a compressed schedule, it would have been more effective to start Jericho with a mini-feud and give him a clean win at the Elimination Chamber in a hard-fought singles match—maybe against Miz or Rhodes or Ziggler or someone at that level—than to have him lose at Royal Rumble, lose with an excuse in the Elimination Chamber, and now he's in the main event at Wrestlemania. It's just bad writing.

The one surprise about last night's battle royal was that I thought Jericho would win by tossing Santino out last.

With the little underdog buildup they've been giving Santino, a few near throw-outs of Jericho would have built the ending up more, then have him get caught in the Codebreaker and then tossed out.

Update on Barrett: Partial dislocation of right elbow. Out 6-8 weeks.

  5. I found it a bit ridiculous that they would all team up on Khali but not on Show. Khali sucks so having Santino eliminate him by himself would have been believable enough for me. But it would have made much more sense to have everyone team up to toss Show.

Sucks for Barrett. I would've liked to see him at Mania.

Damn. Barrett was quickly becoming my favorite heel.

Now's pretty much the worst time of the year to get hurt if you're in the midccards. Losing that Wrestlemania payday will be a huge loss.

The CM Punk/Chris Brown brouhaha is heating up even more. Check the video Punk put up on his Twitter account.

I guess Chris Brown's coming to Wrestlemania. I hope they don't put him in Jericho's corner.

WWE is refuting the reports of Shaq at Wrestlemania, but I'll bet it happens. They'd rather have Shaq in Miami than to waste Show in a MITB match.

Plus, having him go from the title hunt to jobbing to a retired basketball player is suitable punishment for his botches

Bean, I hope the WWE isn't stupid enough to have anything to do with Chris Brown. I think the beef is legit. As it should be, I'd love to see Punk stretch and choke out that woman beater.

I hope you're right, but I have little confidence in the folks in Stamford.

I'm amazed at the amount of tweets I see in defense of Brown, especially those made by women. Really? Really? Really.
