2012 Pro Wrestling Thread

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Rockbottom, Dec 26, 2011.

  1. A great idea but like you say, he'd have to beat Cena for that to work. And I just don't see a scenario the WWE would do in which he'd beat Cena because let's face it, they don't have ideas as good as this.

I think it would work better if they stayed with and tried to enhance the somewhat-heel reaction Cena was getting at the start of the program. The past couple weeks, it feels like they've been telling him to up his game and portraying him as more sympathetic, and while they has created a better reaction to Cena, I think it has tempered the intensity of the program, unfortunately. If I was setting out to make The Ultimate Smark Program, it would start with Cena turning heel to end Wrestlemania this year, and then ending with either him or Rock challenging the Undertaker at next year's Mania.

I wasn't really thinking Taker. I was thinking he was lumping Cena in with Hogan and Austin among his other victims.

And yeah, I sure as fuck don't want to see another DX/Taker match next year. Four years is enough. It's not unique any more.

  4. The question that has be to asked is what comes next for Cena post-WM. Do you put him back in the title hunt with Cena-Punk, Part II or (if Jericho wins) put them in a Triple Threat? With Ziggler and Miz each stagnant for now, is there really a top heel that would provide something of a fresh angle for Cena?

Strange as it sounds, why the hell not push Otunga and see where it goes? If you can put a belt on Great Khali, then why not give Otunga a steady push up the ladder. He doesn't have to win the belt, but at least it would show a sign that someone in the creative side has a pulse.

I think this might be where Lord Tensai comes in, to be the guy to get Cena to SummerSlam. It'll be interesting to see how different he looks from his Prince Albert/A-Train days, and how many people recognize him.

A lot also hinges on who WWE calls up from Florida. There's a few guys down there who might be ready (and I don't mean NXT ready): Antonio Cesaro (formerly Claudio Castagnoli), Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley), Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) and Richie Steamboat (son of the Dragon). Husky Harris apparently is in better working shape too. Cesaro would be an obvious protege for Alberto Del Rio, working a high-class Eurosnob gimmick. Rollins would have great matches with Punk. Husky could have fat jiggling contests with Brodus Clay.

  6. I think the idea is to use Tensai as Cena's next opponent. Not saying I like it but that seems to be the idea.

Maybe it's just me, but the guy in last night's promo looked absolutely nothing like Albert and more like a true Japanese wrestler. Maybe that's the idea; I dunno. But I'm not so sure Lord Tensai = Albert.

Oh, it's definitely Albert. The chest tattoos give it away. Thing is, as more of his body is shown, there's a lot of Chinese characters on there. When he debuts, I think some people will want to call him "Son of Hakushi."

If anybody can come up with a drinking game for WrestleMania, I'd be grateful.

Chug your beer every time Bryan says YES!!!!

Take a drink every time you hear Cena Sucks.

Take a drink every time there's a two count.

    That's all I have.

Apparently the guy in the promo last night is a Japanese wrestler they have in FCW.

I'd pass out in 10 minutes if Bryan and Sheamus open it.
