Love Triumph and April Wine. So, we update the tagline with lyrics from one group of Canadian rockers to another.

White man came across the sea
He brought us pain and misery

He killed our tribes, he killed our creed
He took our game for his own need

We fought him hard, we fought him well
Out on the plains we gave him hell

But many came, too much for Cree
Oh will we ever be set free

Run to the hills - run for your lives
Run to the hills - run for your lives

I spent about 50 percent of my ninth-grade class time drawing pictures of Eddie. In fact, I blew off reading Great Expectations in English class because me and two friends spent every day for three weeks competing in daily Eddie-drawing contests.

"Revelations" and "The Trooper" inspired me to read Chesterton and Tennyson, respectively, as an eighth grader. On the other hand, "To Tame a Land" inspired me to read Dune.

I know Metallica's Black Album blew them into another stratosphere with all the mainstream notoriety, but nobody was bigger in the Metal scene in the 80s than Iron Maiden.

Also no band had/has more international appeal (ie. South America, Eastern Europe, etc.) in addition to their popularity in the US, Canada and the UK)

Metallica (and possibly Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax) doesn't have Iron Maiden beat on this?

It's not just a game of notes, it's the sound inside your soul.

I can't believe I'm going to ask these questions, but I am:
    1. What is the evidence that indicates Iron Maiden is the biggest band in Eastern Europe and South America?
    B. Does being the biggest band in Eastern Europe and South American make a group HoF-worthy?

Metallica wasn't headlining major arenas until '92. Maiden was doing so a decade earlier. Not sure Slayer or Megadeth ever did on their own. I was never really a fan of either band bit my recollection is that they tended to headline theater venues or smaller arenas both in the US and internationally, or were part of touring metal festivals. My recollection could be off.
