    Nate McLouth to the Nationals:

Decent insurance for the inevitable Harper or Werth DL stint.

    Love it.

He fills the Chad Tracy role, except 1) he can actually hit, 2) he's Tyson Gay compared to Tracy on the basepaths and 3) He's more valuable in the field.

Can anyone make a list of long-term contracts that ended well for the team?

    Mussina
Greg Maddux (was his deal even that long term?)

Source: Beltran going to #Yankees. Three-year deal, per @FeinsandNYDN.

So, what's the Yankees outfield look like now?

He had a good post-season, but I'm not sure he's an upgrade over Granderson.

Beltran, Ellsbery, Soriano, Gardner, Ichiro, Wells.

Yeah, exactly. That's three too many.

It's the Yankees. The $189 million isn't a real limit. They can spend whatever they want.

Wells doesn't count. Sure, they have to pay him, but he stinks. There is no reason to play the guy regularly.

So they have five guys for four spots (including DH). Three of them (Ellsbury, Gardner and Beltran) have had injury issues. Beltran and Suzuki are old. The Yankees just have to hope they don't have too many of those guys breaking down at the same time.
